Richard
Marcinko is one of the nation's most accomplished and recognized
special operations experts, with over 30 years of experience
in a variety of specialties including counter-terrorism,
intelligence and special operations. After enlisting in the
Navy, Marcinko worked his way up to the rank of captain.
He was the first commanding officer and founder of two of
the military's premier counter-terrorist units: SEAL TEAM
SIX and Red Cell. The legendary SEAL TEAM SIX engaged in
highly classified missions from Central America to the Middle
East, the North Sea to Africa and beyond. Commanding Red
Cell, Marcinko was directed to use his team to test the Navy's
anti-terrorist capabilities. The result: he was able to infiltrate
seemingly impenetrable, highly secured bases, nuclear submarines,
ships and other purported "secure areas." |
His
experiences led to the New York Times-best-selling autobiography
Rogue Warrior, and his subsequent Rogue Warrior fiction books,
co-written with John Weisman.
Marcinko
has authored two non-fiction works on business strategy and the
principles of leadership. Leadership Secrets of the Rogue Warrior
was a New York Times business bestseller for four months, and
the second in the series, The Rogue Warrior's Strategy for Success,
elaborates on his battle-tested principles of success.
As
CEO of SOS Temps Inc., a private security consulting firm, Marcinko's
clients have included the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, the White
House Fellows and the US Army War College. And companies as diverse
as General Motors, AT&T, Dominos Pizza, and Motorola have called
upon Richard Marcinko, Inc., a motivational training and team-building
company.
Marcinko
lives in the Washington, DC area, where he resides in the aptly-named
Rogue Manor with his wife and children.

Over
his thirty year naval career, Richard Marcinko worked his
way from enlisted man to the rank of captain. During his
early years, Marcinko joined the UDTs (Underwater Demolition
Teams), and served as a Navy SEAL during the war in Vietnam.
While serving 2 tours in Vietnam, Marcinko won the Silver
Star, four bronze stars with combat V, two Navy Commendation
Medals, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Silver
Star. Marcinko's SEAL platoon became such an enemy killing
force, that the Viet Cong posted a reward of 50,000 piasters
for his death. |

| Besides
serving as a Naval Attache to Cambodia and later as CO
of SEAL Team Two, Marcinko was the founder and first Commanding
Officer of two of the military's premier counter-terrorist
units: SEAL TEAM SIX and RED CELL. The legendary SEAL TEAM
SIX engaged in highly classified counter terrorist missions
in Central America, the Middle East, the North Sea, Africa
and beyond.
While commanding RED CELL, Marcinko used
his teams' expertise as Navy SEALs to test the Navy's anti-terrorist
capabilities. The result: RED CELL infiltrated supposedly
impenetrable US military bases, weapons storage areas, aircraft
carriers, nuclear submarines, and other "secure areas".
As Red Cell penetrated bases and took hostages, Marcinko's
unit ran roughshod over would be defenders. Nothing was immune
to RED CELL's "terrorist attacks", not even the
President's jet, Air Force One. |
